Combining massage and cupping in a session can be incredibly effective, as each therapy supports and enhances the benefits of the other, providing a deeper level of relaxation and healing.

Massage Therapy

Therapeutic Massage is ideal for increasing circulation, energizing overused muscles and removing metabolic waste from muscles and surrounding tissue. It is excellent for addressing chronic aches, pains or tense areas. For those recovering from surgery, massage can be used to increase mobility and reduce restrictions over scars and recently repaired joints. Massage is often employed by professional athletes as well as recreational exercisers to enhance recovery and performance. It is also beneficial for all us weekend warriors who did a little too much in the garden or on our bicycle over the weekend!

My massage sessions are strongly influenced by my Rolfing training and as such tend to be slower than other massages you may have received. My Rolfing education and other trainings have approached bodywork from the standpoint of working in collaboration with the body as opposed to on the body. These trainings have stressed using my intuition and listening to the client's body (as opposed to working through a standard routine that I employ on every client).

This means that I work as fast or as slowly as your body and nervous system will allow. If the muscle or area being worked is especially tight and restricted, I will work slower or indirectly to provide your body the time it needs to adapt to the changes I am asking it to make. This also means that at times an issue will require more time or sessions to respond. I believe, however, that changes made this way are longer lasting, more comfortable and more effective long term.
